In this musical adventure inspired by the popular Roald Dahl book and subsequent films, Willy Wonka decides he must find a new person who is kind, creative and loves all things sweet to run his factory. In order to find a worthy successor, sets up a competition in which 5 lucky children (Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregaurde, Mike Teavee and Charlie Bucket) find a golden ticket in a Wonka bar and get the chance to visit his factory to compete for a ‘grand prize’. Through the story, we follow Charlie, the last to get a ticket but most passionate about Wonka’s work, as he sees things that must be believed to be seen, and are beyond his pure imagination!

Bridport Young Performers (BYP) is a youth theatre group for young performers aged 25 and under. They offer opportunities throughout the year in the arts, including workshops, trips, fundraising, community events and, of course, their Christmas musical! Past productions have included ‘The Young Ones’, ‘The Demon Headmaster’, ‘Annie’, ‘High School Musical’, ‘Seussical’, ‘Oliver’ and, most recently, ‘The Addams Family’! The group aim to support its members in their development as performers and people, with a youth production team of over 20 people, and cast of over 60 members for their last production, who are hoping ‘The Addams Family’ will be their biggest and best show yet!
